Information technology (IT), the vast and growing array of computing and electronic data communications facilities and services, is used daily to create access, examine, store and distribute material in multiple media and formats. It plays an integral part in fulfillment of BMC’s administrative and other roles. Users of BMC’s resources have a responsibility not to abuse those resources and to respect the right of the members of the community and BMC herself. This BMC IT policy provides guidelines for the appropriate use of BMC’s access to information about and oversight of these resources
Most IT use parallels familiar activity in other media and formats, making the IT
policy important in determining what use is appropriate. Using electronic mail (email) instead of standard written correspondence, for example, does not fundamentally alter the nature of the communication, nor does it alter the guiding policy. BMC has made her efforts to invest in human resources and IT equipments to create and procure these systems.
The approach adopted by BMC aimed to ensure maximum level of protection of the IT systems, the council is operating in circumstances to act as a liaison between her staff and IT systems to ensure better use of IT equipments and its ally and better protection of them.
IT Policy is the set of procedures reflecting management’s guidance and directions of controls over information systems and related controls.
The Information Technology systems assists the council to achieve its vision and
mission statement and the objectives by providing solutions.
